Abstract:Objective To study the specific application and effect of radio frequency identification (RFID) in the treatment process of
external medical devices in the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD). Methods This paper analyzed the current situation of the
use of external medical devices in the disinfection supply center, and proposed a full-process monitoring system based on the RFID
control system, which could realize the traceability and status tracking of the external medical devices according to the operation of
each process, and realize the effective management of the external medical devices. Results After the application of RFID in CSSD,
the coincidence rate of the recovery and distribution of external medical equipment has been improved, the error rate of the recovery
record has been reduced by 21.5%, and the error rate of distribution has been reduced by 21.2%. At the same time, the input time
and querytime has been also reduced. Conclusion Through the construction of RFID full-process control system, the functions of
process management, traceability management of disinfection device, and quality evaluation for external medical devices have been
completed, and the business process of disinfection supply of surgical instruments has been standardized.
