Abstract:Objective To replace manual or semi-automatic electrode polishing and solve the problem of uniformity of electrode
grinding effect by developing a fully automatic electrode grinding device for medical use. Methods The device was mainly
composed of mechanical arm, fixture, polishing device, casing, and control system. The finished product was made by using
computer-aided drawing and 3D printing technology, and the electrochemical cyclic voltammetry method was used to evaluate the
application effect by using a three-electrode system. Results The polished electrode was continuously scanned between 0 and 1.6 V
by electrochemical cyclic voltammetry until a stable cyclic voltammetric characteristic peak of the gold electrode was obtained. It
was concluded that the Au reduction peak values of the eight electrodes automatically polished were 0.3~0.35 μA, and the oxidation
characteristic peaks were stable and homogeneous; the Au reduction peak values of the eight manually polished electrodes were
0.3~0.7 μA, and the oxidation characteristic peaks were unstable with poor uniformity. Conclusion The device realizes the
automation of the whole process of electrode polishing. By accurately controlling the strength, speed, mode and time of electrode
polishing, the uniformity of the effect that cannot be solved by manual polishing is effectively solved.
