Abstract:In radiation therapy, the patient’s respiratory movement affects the dose distribution. The system consisting of respiratory
gating and medical linear accelerator is often used to reduce the impact of respiratory movement, but time delay in the system cannot
ensure that the beam state is synchronized with the patient’s respiratory cycle. The AAPM TG-142 Report suggested that the time
delay of respiratory gating devices should be measured in annual examinations. This measurement is important to evaluate whether
respiratory gating can be used for radiotherapy. In this paper, the existing respiratory gating time delay measurement methods were
summarized in order to provide a reference for the correct selection of standard, accurate and convenient methods.
