Abstract:Objective To explore the quantitative characteristics of computed tomography (CT) and its influencing factors in nonsmokers
by CT quantitative measurement method. Methods Chest CT images of non-smokers were retrospectively collected, and
all subjects had no current or previous history of chronic lung disease. Quantitative airway parameters were obtained by quantitative
CT measurement, and factors affecting quantitative CT parameters were analyzed by multiple regression. Results Gender and age
factors had influence on CT quantitative indexes of airway. The inner diameter and area of tube wall in male subjects were larger
than those in female subjects, while the percentage of tube wall area (WA%) in female subjects was larger than that in male subjects.
Conclusion There are significant differences in quantitative CT measures of WA% and internal diameter between varying sex of non
smokers.
