Abstract:Objective To investigate the value of systemic data monitoring for the application of hospital equipment management,
with the analysis of the monitor of ultrasound systems and examinations. Methods All 19 ultrasound systems in the department of
ultrasound imaging of our hospital were monitored using systemic monitoring system and ultrasound reporting system for equipment
daily exams, daily service time, usage rate and probe service time. All the data in the whole year of 2018 were compared for the
workloads between weekdays and weekends, and between outpatients and inpatients for the analysis of the features of patient
loads and hospital equipment management. Results For the whole year of 2018, the usage rate of all ultrasound systems were
60.9%±32.6%, and the workloads of the weekdays were 302835 persons, which is obviously higher than 75614 persons in the
weekends, while the daily patients of the weekends (82.4±13.5) person-times were higher than that of the weekdays (63.9±7.6)
person-times. The comparisons of the differences were statistical significant (all P<0.05). Conclusion Our study has applied the
systemic data monitoring for hospital equipment management, which has provided powerful foundation for optimizing workflows,
increasing equipment usage rates and equipment procurement argument. Therefore, systemic data monitoring is important for
improving the equipment usage and management of our hospital.
