Abstract:Objective To summarize the maintenance methods and ideas by analyzing the causes of the malfunction of the GE
Datex-Ohmeda Aestiva/5 series of anesthesia machines. Methods In the case of three equipment failures: dynamic tidal volume
compensation shutdown, suffocation alarm, and failure to start as an example, we performed maintenance and troubleshooting.
Results Dynamic tidal compensation closure failure was caused by long-term water accumulation in the respiratory circuit;
asphyxiation alarm failure was caused by the unstable control pressure of the output of PEEP valve; failure to start was caused by the
damage of 35 V 27 uF capacitor. Conclusion With the high-load use of anesthesia machine all the year round, it is prone to various
malfunctions. Maintenance personnel need to fully grasp the structure and principle of anesthesia machine, and be skilled in the
maintenance of common faults to ensure the operation of equipment and meet the needs of surgery.
