Abstract:Objective To develop a system of real-time monitoring for patients during radiotherapy. Methods Bluetooth wireless
pulse oximeter, laptop, keyboard and video mouse extender and other devices were selected firstly. Then, real-time monitoring of
pulse oxygen saturation and pulse rate of patients during radiotherapy was achieved through systematic integration. Results The
monitoring system test results showed that the measurement error of pulse oxygen saturation in the scale of 98%, 90%, 85% and 80%,
75%, 70% was ±1.2% and ±2.9%, respectively. Pulse rate detection error range was ±2 bpm. The average response time of SpO2
and pulse rate changes was between 7-8 s. There was no significant difference between the results of the two states of the accelerator
beam on and the beam off. Conclusion This design can in real-time monitor the pulse oxygen saturation and pulse rate of tumor
patients during radiotherapy, and has good clinical application value in protecting patients’ safety and reducing medical disputes. In
addition, it is low cost of configuration and simple operation, and is easy to popularize and use.
