Abstract:Objective To evaluate the clinical value of laparoscopic ultrasonography in laparoscopic
myomectomy surgery. Methods Totally 78 patients underwent laparoscopic myomectomy in our
hospital from March 2016 to December 2016 were chosen. In all cases, visible fibroids were enucleated
during laparoscopic myomectomy. Then we used laparoscopic ultrasonography to scan, positioning for
residual fibroids and guide operator to enucleate them. Results Before the application of laparoscopic
ultrasonography, the total number of enucleated fibroids compared with the total number of fibroids
founded by preoperative transvaginal ultrasonography, there was no significant difference. The total
number of enucleated fibroids in different locations of uterus (anterior wall, posterior wall, fundus,
cervix) and in different locations of myometrium (intramural, submucosal, subserosal) was mostly
less than the total number of fibroids founded by preoperative transvaginal ultrasonography, there
was significant difference in intramural and submucosal fibroids. After the application of laparoscopic
ultrasonography, the total number of enucleated fibroids compared with the total number of fibroids
founded by preoperative transvaginal ultrasonography, there was significant statistical difference.
The total number of enucleated fibroids in different locations of uterus and in different locations
of myometrium was more than the total number of fibroids founded by preoperative transvaginal
ultrasonography, there was significant statistical difference in anterior wall and intramural fibroids.
The median diameter of minimum fibroids found by preoperative transvaginal ultrasonography was
1.5 cm, which by laparoscopic ultrasonography was 1.2 cm, there was significant statistical difference.
Conclusion Laparoscopic ultrasonography in laparoscopic myomectomy can increase the fibroids
detection rate and reduce the residual rate and recurrence rate of postoperative fibroids.
