Abstract:Novel Mg-Zn-Zd bio-medical alloys were designed and prepared in this study, and their micro-structure, mechanical properties and biodegradability were investigated. The results showed that Nd could effectively refine the grain size of the re-crystallized alloy and greatly improve the ability of plastic deformation through decreasing the stacking default energy of the alloy. In addition, the Mg-Nd second phases could help to improve the corrosion resistance of the alloy, making the alloy to degrade uniformly.
