Abstract:Objective To analyze the impact factors of economic benefit of ultrasound equipment and probe utilization in S hospital
to provide guidance for utilization management and configuration. Methods Taking the ultrasonic inspection equipment of 11
ultrasonic departments in S hospital as the research object, the working time data of the probe of the ultrasonic equipment were
obtained by using the equipment operation acquisition system. Workload and income records were obtained from picture archiving
and communication system, and Pearson coefficient was applied to analyze the correlation between monthly income and workload,
working hours, procurement cost and amount of probes, respectively. Utilization proportion of different types of probes were
calculated and the relationship between probe utilization and configuration of 5 X brand ultrasound machines were evaluated.
Results The monthly income of ultrasonic equipment was strongly correlated with the monthly workloads (r=0.848, P=0.001), and
significantly correlated with working hours (r=0.663, P=0.026). The unbalanced utilization of probes was prominent, and mismatch
was found between utilization demand and probe configuration. Conclusion Utilization evaluating can help to clarify factors
influencing the economic benefit of ultrasound equipment and the problems in utilization, which can provide data support for
further application optimizing and purchasing decision making.
