Abstract:Objective To design an automatic leak detector for electronic endoscope, which can be used for clinical leak detection of
soft endoscopes. Methods The leak detector was mainly composed of MCU, air pump, air pressure sensor, manipulator, etc. It was
designed according the standard procedure of leak detection of electronic endoscopes. This leak detector could match the angle knob
grippers of the operating parts of different types of endoscopes. The stepper motor was used to rotate the front end of endoscope
during the leak detection process. The leak detection process could be completed by one-button access, under the specifications. It
could save manpower while ensuring accuracy. Results The leak detector was used for leak detection of different types of endoscopes
in our hospital. Compared with the traditional immersion leak detection method, the novel leak detector was more convenient to
operate and uses less time. There was only one false negative case of 590 detections during the leak detection process. Conclusion
This leak detector can meet the requirment of clinical endoscopic leak detection and realize one-button leak detection, which is
convenient in clinical practice.
