Abstract:Objective To compare the effect of chemical indicator card and general chemical indicator card in clinical use, and to
provide references for the improvement of sterilization monitoring quality in hospital sterilization supply room. Methods In the
process of steam sterilization for every pot of pressure during the period from January 2018 to March 2018, the sterilization items of
the dressing package, instrument package and paper plastic bag were divided into three groups on average. Each group was separately
placed an ordinary chemical indicator card coated 132℃ pressure steam sterilization bags monitoring, a typeⅠ coated 132℃ pressure
steam sterilization bags monitoring chemical indicator card and a typeⅡ coated 132℃ pressure steam sterilization bags monitoring
chemical indicator card. In addition, a self-contained fast biological indicator was placed. At the same time, chemical PCD and
biological PCD were used to monitor the comprehensive sterilization performance of sterilizer. Physical monitoring results of each
sterilization were recorded. Results Under the condition of each pot physical monitoring, chemical PCD monitoring, biological PCD
monitoring and every pot time batch monitoring were all qualified, the pass rate of typeⅡ coated sheet discoloration was 100% in
the three groups, while the average color coated sheet qualified rate of TypeⅠ was 100%, 98.32% and 97.82% respectively, and the
average color change rate of common chemical indicator CARDS was 99.67%, 89.83% and 94.81%, respectively. Conclusion The
clinical use of laminated chemical indicator card in hospital has more accurate monitoring rate and more reliable indicator. It is worth
to be popularized in clinical pressure steam sterilization.
