Abstract:ObjectiveTo explore the best focus point of intraoral occlusal photography for orthodontics, and guide the orthodontist to take clearer pictures in clinical diagnosis and treatment process, so as to better communicate with patients. Methods A single blind method was used to compare the images taken at each focus point., satisfactory intraoral occlusal photography was selected by the orthodontist subjectively and then comparison of the most representative images were made with a list.ResultsCompared with oral digital photography focusing on other areas, those focusing on canine area achieved better effect in reflecting a detailed oral hard and soft tissue, which is particularly evident if in a condition of F25 or larger aperture.ConclusionUnder the same set conditions, use the DX format single lens reflex camera to take intraoral occlusal photography with a focus point of canine area, can better meet orthodontist’s requirements for getting more details in mouth, and reach the required clinical effect.
