Abstract:Objective The existing automated instruments all use fixed hematocrit (HCT) value to convert the serum C-reactive protein (CRP) value. The serum CRP value needs manual reckoning if the hematocrit is not in normal. In this paper, we designed a kind of device which can test the hematocrit with automatic correction function. Methods The specific protein concentration and hematocrit were measured by scattering light: the linear relationship between CRP concentration and hematocrit, and the linear relationship between scattering light intensity and hematocrit were verified| specific protein concentration and hematocrit were measured by scattering method| correct the CRP results using whole blood hematocrit. Results There was a linear relationship between the whole blood CRP concentration and hematocrit, R2=0.9819, as well as between the scattering light intensity and hematocrit, R2=0.9672. This paper takes the sample whose hematocrit is 38% as the true value (49.15mg/L). All the relative deviations are less than 15% which was within the standard range. Conclusion The analyzer uses hematocrit to adjust the CRP value. The results show that this procedure is effectively.
