Abstract:To provide some experience for the maintenance of linear accelerators, the Vlianac Clinac IX linear accelerator On Board
Imager (OBI) system fault and FLOW interlock fault was analyzed and repaired. When troubleshooting the OBI system, according
to the error message prompted by the system, we used the backup motion controls (BMC) box to eliminate the hardware failure
firstly, and then checked the drawing for step-by-step troubleshooting. The fault was identified on the Supervisor after measuring the
Supervisor power supply was normal, then replaced the Supervisor, and the OBI system worked normally. For the FLOW interlock
fault, checked the faults one by one according to the line direction, and finally determined the fault point in the oil level switch. Due
to the long-term power failure, the oil tank cooled, the oil level dropped, and the oil level switch was disconnected, after shorting
the oil level switch, high voltage was added to raise the oil temperature. The FLOW interlock was eliminated after the short circuit
was removed. There are many faults that cause the FLOW interlock, because the interlock is a series signal, so the key nodes can be
quickly found, which can reduce the scope of inspection and reduce the maintenance time.
