Abstract:Objective To summarize the management of average length of stay (ALOS) from 2012 to 2016 in Liaocheng people’s
hospital and to discuss the future of ALOS management. Methods The measures used to manage ALOS during the past 5 years
were summarized, such as quality control circle, information construction and delicacy management on longer ALOS department.
Results There was a decreasing of ALOS, and the rate of utilization of hospital beds and satisfaction index of discharged patients
were increasing from 2012 to 2016. Conclusion The basement of ALOS management is the medical quality and improvement of
medical technology. In the future, the information planning and adjustment of human resource shoud be included in the managements
of ALOS.
