Abstract:Bladder cancer mainly occurred on the bladder mucosa, and is the most common malignancy of the urinary system known
as its high morbidity and mortality. However, many weaknesses and shortcomings still exist in current clinical diagnosis for bladder
cancer, such as invasive detection, low specificity and sensibility. We proposed and designed a new type of microfluidic chip used for
the detection of bladder cancer. Polydimethylsiloxane was used as the material of the microfluidic chip for production utilizing cast
molding method. Specific antibody was fixed onto a glass slide after silanization modification and used to capture target cells with
cylindrical micropattern which could slow down the cell velocity. Adopting the microfluidic chip, bladder cancer cells were captured from the urine sample of patients and identified by specific fluorescent antibody. The results showed that the microfluidic chip could
specifically capture bladder cancer cells from urine of patients. This study has successfully established the microfluidic chip which
detects bladder cancer noninvasively and provides new ideas and powerful platform for detection and diagnosis of bladder cancer.
