Abstract:Objective To design a ventilator humidifier that can monitor the level of the wetting tank in real time and automatically
inject liquid on demand. Methods Firstly, the optical level sensors were respectively installed at the wetting tank side 3.2 and 3.8 cm
level, which was used to monitor the wet tank liquid level. Then, the peristaltic pump was installed in the humidifier main unit, which
could inject liquid into the wetting tank by regularly squeezes liquid pipe and control the high and low state of the liquid level at the
optical liquid level sensor. Results When the wetting tank level was less than 3.2 cm, the peristaltic pump started and begined to fill
the liquid, when the liquid level rised to 3.8 cm, the peristaltic pump stoped working, which could control the wetting tank liquid
level between 3.2 to 3.8 cm. Conclusion The humidifier controls the wetting tank liquid level in the desired ranges, so as to achieve
the best heating and humidification effects for patients inhaling gas and improve the quality of artificial airway care.
