Objective To strengthen the prospective surveillance of hospital infection and reduce the workload of infection
commissioners. Methods A nosocomial infection real-time monitoring system based on data base techniques and existing hospital
information system was constructed, and each sub-modules was introduced in detail. Results This system successfully connected
with LIS and PACS. By using it, information of the hospital infection was collected, added up, analyzed, and inquired accurately.
Conclusion Real-time monitoring of hospital infection and management could be conducted by using the read time monitoring
system. Data collected from the system could provide scientific basis for hospital staffs, which is helpful to reduce human and
material resources.
