Abstract:Having taken RCA (Root Cause Analysis) method as the basis, the paper adopted FMEA
(Failure Mode And Effects Analysis) method for analysis of medical equipment failures, and the
fishbone diagram for further exploration of the distal factor that might result in equipment failure.
As a result, the potential factors that might cause the failure of medical equipment were found and
correction measures were formulated accordingly and verified in the subsequent actions. Application of
RCA in maintenance management of medical equipment could effectively improve the availability of the
medical equipment.
