Abstract:Objective To explore the effectiveness of application of ultrasound in observation of the
lower uterine segment for middle-late pregnancy after cesarean section. Methods Altogether 124 cases
of middle-late pregnancy after cesarean section who were treated in the hospital from February 2012 to
April 2015 were randomly selected as Observation Group; while, 108 cases of pregnancy after vaginal
delivery were randomly selected as Control Group. Abdominal and perineal ultrasound scans were
performed in both of the groups so as to observe the effectiveness of application of different scanning
methods in observation of lower uterine segments. Results In different gestational ages, abdominal
scan results were significantly better than that of the perineum scan results, with statistically significant
differences (P<0.05). With the increase of gestational ages, the thickness of the inferior segment in the
anterior wall of the lower uterine segments became thinning, with statistically significant differences
(P<0.05). 14 times of ultrasound scans of Observation Group could distinguish scar locations (11.67%),
while the remaining 106 (88.33%) did not identify scar locations. Conclusion The application of
abdominal ultrasound scans especially using transabdominal ultrasound in observation of the lower
uterine segment for middle-late pregnancy after cesarean section could be served as an ideal method
to reveal the lower uterine segment, but cannot be used for prediction of the security of a vaginal trial
production based on the normal ultrasonic results of the lower uterine segment.
