Abstract:This paper elaborated the development of a separate nail for single-tunnel double-bundle
femoral-end reconstruction of ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament). The separate nail was streamlined and
teardrop-shaped on the cross section and had protuberant splitting fin on the side. At the end of splitting
fin, skid-proof gears were seen; while, on the opposite side, anti-rotation skid-proof gears were designed.
By using the separate nail, the tendon was closer to stess zone of anatomic stop, and the distribution area
of tendon in the foot-print zone could be expanded as much as possible so as to achieve the requirement
of anatomic reconstruction more likely. The combination of separate nails and the endobutton made the
tendon redistributed to the anatomy-functional position and at the same time guaranteed favorable fixed
force.
