Abstract:Objective To use the information technology to strengthen the refined management of the full life-cycle of medical
equipment, to gradually improve the management level of medical equipment in hospital, and provide decision support for
hospital leadership and equipment management departments. Methods By summarizing the previous management experience of
the hospital and based on the operation effective system (OES) of the hospital, five management modules including equipment
budget management, procurement management, contract management, fixed assets management and equipment management
were established, from which relevant data were collected and analyzed, so as to realize the real-time and visualization of medical
equipment’s full life-cycle management status. Results The implementation of OES had greatly improved the efficiency of hospital
medical equipment management. Compared with the pre-use time of the system, the execution time of device budget statistics was
shortened by about 90%. The time spent in each stage of the equipment fault reporting and fault diagnosis had been significantly
reduced compared with the pre-use time of the system. The time of fault diagnosis had been reduced from 15.000 min to 6.375 min, and the
total time of repair had been reduced from 32.140 min to 10.730 min, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).
The purchasers’ performance evaluation, suppliers’ service evaluation and equipment performance evaluation were carried out
from three aspects: budget implementation, supplier maintenance evaluation and equipment failure analysis, which improved the
medical equipment-related performance evaluation mechanism and improved the management level of hospital medical equipment.
Conclusion The OES effectively promotes the standardization and systematization of hospital medical equipment management, thus
ensures the efficient operation of hospital medical equipment and effectively improves social benefits.
