Abstract:Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is a common critical illness caused by acute lung injury in clinical practice.
There are significant differences between individuals, difficult treatment, and high mortality rates, and personalized monitoring and
guidance are urgently needed. The existing classical monitoring means such as CT and single photon emission computed tomography
cannot simultaneously realize the non-invasive, bedside and visual monitoring of ARDS mechanical ventilation treatment. The
electrical impedance tomography (EIT) technology, as a new non-invasive functional imaging tool, has been increasingly applied
to the whole process management of ARDS patient treatment. This article aims to review the principles, functions, and application
progress of EIT technology in the whole process management of mechanical ventilation treatment for ARDS patients, in order to
provide a reference basis for the development of EIT technology and further research on its clinical application in ARDS.
