Abstract:Objective To develop a three-level warehouse management system for medical consumables, and realize closed-loop
and refined whole-process traceability management of low-value medical consumables, so as to improve the accuracy of medical
consumables charging. Methods The PDCA cycle method was used to take corresponding measures to solve the problems existing
in the extensive management of traditional low-value medical consumables, and a three-level warehouse management system of lowvalue
medical consumables was established by referring to the full-process traceability management mode of high-value medical
consumables. With the help of barcode technology, low-value medical consumables could be swept into storage, swept code out
of storage, swept code charge, swept code registration department loss and sweep code to complete the allocation of consumables
between departments. Results After the continuous improvement of PDCA, the proportion of the items with incorrect charges
for medical consumables decreased from 0.883% in 2019 to 0.054% in 2021. The proportion of unjustified charges decreased
from 0.054% in 2019 to 0.002% in 2021, and both the differences were statistically significant (P<0.001). Conclusion Using the
PDCA cycle method and with the help of barcode technology, the three-level warehouse management system of common medical
consumables can be used for closed-loop and refined management of low-value medical consumables, which can effectively
eliminate the phenomenon of wrong charging and disorderly charging and improve the accuracy of charging.
