Design and Trial of a System for Image Acquisition and Graphic Record Generation for Surgery

Abstract:Objective To develop a surgical image acquisition and graphic record generation system, aiming to improve the quality
of surgical records. Methods The surgical image acquisition and graphic record generation system was applied in the course
of surgery, through the surgeon could operate the wireless image acquisition device combined with graphic record generation
software, the key steps of surgery image matched with text medical records, the formation of graphic surgical recorded and used in
clinical trial. The writing time of written records (control group ) and graphic records (experimental group), the number of cases of
postoperative rechecking, the number of cases of revision of surgical records, the scores of doctors, nurses and patients on the amount
of information contained in the two records, and the scores of doctors and nurses on the reference significance of the two records
in teaching were compared. Results The time required for writing medical records, the number of postoperative re-checks, and the
number of surgical record modifications in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, and the difference was
statistically significant (P<0.05), there were significant differences in the scores of information content (except for surgeons) and
clinical teaching reference between the experimental group and the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Surgical image acquisition
and graphic record generation systems can increase the amount of information of patients’ diagnosis and treatment records while
improving the efficiency of doctors. In addition, the system can provide more comprehensive clinical teaching materials and
accelerate the standardization of surgical records.
