Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical value of the breath-hold compressed sensing (CS) technology in magnetic resonance
cholangiopancreatography (MRCP). Methods Forty patients who underwent both 3D navigator triggered MRCP using sampling
perfection with SPACE and 3D breath-hold CS MRCP (sub-nyquist rate was 3.6%) were divided into two groups (SPACE-MRCP
and CS-MRCP). Two radiologists independently analyzed overall image quality, background suppression effect and pancreatic duct
visualization qualitatively. The scan time, signal to noise ratio (SNR) and contrast to noise ratio (CNR) of two groups were quantitatively
analyzed. Results In all patients, CS-MRCP showed better overall image quality and background suppression than SPACE-MRCP
and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no statistically significance in the pancreatic duct visualization
ability between CS-MRCP and SPACE-MRCP(P>0.05). The scanning time of SPACE-MRCP and CS-MRCP was (260.95±61.70),
17 s, respectively, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). For the quantitative image quality of SNR and CNR, CSMRCP
was superior to SPACE-MRCP, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Compared to the 3D
navigator triggered SPACE-MRCP, the 3D breath-hold CS-MRCP technology can shorten the scanning time and improve image quality
