Applications of Optimized Position Scanning Technology of Elbow Joint on 320 Rows Volume CT

Abstract:Objective To explore the optimization method and clinical application value of Canon 320-rows CT elbow volume
scanning to obtain higher image quality and reduce the radiation dose of the subjects. Methods In this study, 42 cases of patients with
elbow injury in our hospital were taken as the research subjects, and all received CT scan. According to different posture scanning
methods, they were divided into observation group (improved posture optimization) and control group (elbow was placed on the
side of the body), with 21 cases in each group. Subjective and objective image quality and radiation dose between the two groups
were compared. Results The signal to noise ratio and contrast to noise ratio of CT scans of the elbow in the observation group was
(13.9±3.4) and (55±13.7), respectively, which were significant higher than those in the control group of (6.7±2.9) and (21.3±8.3).
The image quality subjective scores in the observation and control groups were (2.95±0.22) and (2.38±0.81) scores, respectively,
the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The volume CT dose index of the observation group and the control group was
2, (9.5±4.9) mGy, respectively, and dose length product was 31.7, (155.7±47.2) mGy·cm, respectively, and the difference was
statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Using the wide-body detector to achieve the standing position of the elbow with a
volume scan of 16 cm can achieve a simple examination of the elbow. Compared with the traditional scanning method, it can obtain
higher image quality and lower radiation dose, so it can be used as the preferred position for CT scanning.
