Application of RapidPlan Simplified Model in the Design of
Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy Plan for Cervical Cancer

Abstract:Objective To explore the application of RapidPlan simplified model in the design of volumetric modulated arc therapy
(VMAT) plan for cervical cancer. Methods 60 cases of VMAT plan for cervical cancer clinical manual optimization (CMO)
application were selected and imported into RapidPlan automatic planning module of Eclipse13.6 planning system. After the first
training, the abnormal plans were eliminated according to the training logs, and the remaining 48 cases were trained for the second
time to generate the RapidPlan simplified model. Another 10 cases of VMAT plans for cervical cancer approved by senior physicists
and executed clinically were selected as the test group. The simplified model was used to generate the automatic plan, and the
main parameters were compared with the original CMO plan to judge the feasibility of the simplified model. Results Automatic
planning generated by simplified model compared with the original CMO plan, the D2 of planning target volume was reduced by
0.8% (P=0.003), D98 increased by 0.5% (P=0.04). The value of homogeneity index decreased by 0.01 (P=0.018), and there was no
significant difference in conformity index (P=0.085). There was no significant difference between rectum V40 and small intestinal V50
in organ at risk (P=0.721, P=0.271), while bladder V40 decreased by 7% (P=0.03). Conclusion In the treatment of VMAT for cervical
cancer, the quality of automatic plan generated by RapidPlan simplified model is generally better than that of manual plan, which can
meet the clinical needs.
