Abstract:Objective To establish a medical equipment management system based on radio frequency identification (RFID) to realize
the tracking and management of the whole life cycle of medical equipment. Methods The system used UHF RFID system, the fixed
readers were deployed at entrances and exits, passages to identify and record the effective range of electronic tags. And finally the
system was evaluated by using asset inventory efficiency and equipment positioning effects. Results The use of the RFID system
has improved the efficiency of asset inventory by 97.9%, and real-time tracking of the device’s movement path has been achieved.
Conclusion The system can realize the tracking management of the whole life cycle of medical equipment and improve the
management effect of medical equipment.
