Abstract:Objective To explore the effectiveness of TVCDS (Transvaginal Color Doppler Sonography) in diagnosis of PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome). Methods Altogether 42 cases of PCOS and 42 healthy women at reproductive age were selected and scanned by TVCDS so as to compare the physical and hemodynamic indexes of ovaries between PCOS Group and Contrast Group. Results PCOS Group was obviously superior to Contrast Group (P<0.01) in quantities of FN (Follicular Number), OV (Ovary Volume), SA (Stromal Area), TA (Total Area) and SA/TA. However, the diameter of the biggest follicle in PCOS Group were much smaller than that in Control Group (P<0.01). Moreover, PCOS Group showed much higher PSV (Peak Systolic Velocity) and EDV (End Diastolic Velocity) in comparison with Control Group (P<0.01), but PI (Pulsatility Index) and RI (Resistance Index) of PCOS Group were much less than Control Group (P<0.01). Conclusion TVCDS could directly and exactly reveal the characteristics of ovaries, and it played an important role in auxiliary diagnosis of PCOS.
