Abstract:Objective To study the difference between contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) based on specific uptake of Kupffer
cellsand dynamic CT in focal liver lesions. Methods A total of 66 consecutive patients with focal liver lesions were enrolled who
underwent Sonazoid-CEUS (S-CEUS) and dynamic CT examinations were included to observe the imaging characteristics of
S-CEUS and compare the consistency of the two imaging diagnoses and pathological results respectively. The diagnostic efficacy
of two imaging methods for benign and malignant focal liver lesionswas analyzed. Results Totally, 112 liver tumors were detected
in all 66 patients, among which 84 were malignant and 28 were benign. The accuracyof S-CEUS and dynamic CT for benign and
malignant liver occupyinglesions were 86.6% (97/112) and 80.4% (90/112), the sensitivities were 88.1% (74/84) and 85.7% (72/84),
and the specificity were 82.1% (23/28) and 64.3% (18/28) respectively. The Kappa values of S-CEUS, dynamic CT compared with
pathological results were 0.663 and 0.488, respectively (P>0.05). ROC curve was applied to compare the diagnostic efficacy of the
two imaging examinations. S-CEUS was higher than dynamic CT, and the area under the curve (95%CI) were 0.851 (0.772~0.911)
and 0.750 (0.659~0.827), with statistical significance (P=0.021). Conclusion The diagnostic efficiency of S-CEUS is higher than that
of dynamic CT forfocal liver lesions.
