Abstract:Objective To investigate the application of machine performance check (MPC) software in the check of the mechanical parameters and dose constancy of VitalBeam accelerator. Methods The mechanical parameters of VitalBeam accelerator and dose constancy of 6 MV photon beam were evaluated by analyzing the fluctuations of each parameter in 16 months. Results The deviation of three indexes of isocenter were lower than 0.3 mm| the maximum offset of MLC was -0.8 mm, in which the maximum offset of Jaw X1 and X2 were +0.9 mm and +0.5 mm, Jaw Y1 and Y2 were -1.9 mm and +0.5 mm respectively, lower than the thresholds| the absolute and relative offset of gantry were -0.1° and +0.1? respectively| the maximum offset of lateral, longitudinal, vertical, pitch, roll and revolution of couch were ±0.1 mm, +0.2 mm, -0.5 mm, +0.04?, -0.05? and -0.05? respectively, and the rotation-induced couch shift was +0.3 mm| the output change of dose constancy of 6 MV X-ray was -0.15%, the uniformity change was +0.70% and the center shift was +0.1 mm. Conclusion The key mechanical and dose constancy parameters of VitalBeam accelerator are reliable and stable. Therefore, the MPC could be used as a simple and efficient quality assurance method.
