Abstract:In this paper, we proposed an electrocardiogram (ECG) telemonitoring system based on smartphone and cloud computing,
which consisted of three components: ECG monitoring device, smartphone APP and cloud server software. The Band-Aid-like ECG
monitoring device could be used in a real-time acquisition of ECG signal, and transmit ECG data to the smartphone over a Bluetooth
wireless connection. The smartphone APP could do a real-time analysis of the received ECG data, and transmit the abnormal ECG
data to the cloud server remotely through mobile communication network. Then the cloud server software could store the received
ECG data in the cloud and push ECG data to doctors via internet. Besides, the software was able to store doctors’ diagnosis and
treatment recommendations and push them to the patient’s smartphone. The experimental results show that the proposed system is reliable and suitable for long-term ECG monitoring in patients with heart disease.
