Integral Uniformity in MR Quality Control

Abstract:Objective To compare the difference of two methods of percent integral uniformity detection in the magnetic resonance
quality control process, and analyze their respective advantages and deficiencies for the relevant operators to choose. Methods Both
the adjustment method and the maximum and minimum value method were used to detect the percent integral uniformity (PIU)
on the MRI device respectively, and the obtained data were processed and analyzed by statistical knowledge after that. Results
The statistical results of the experimental data indicated that the two methods had good consistency (1.90, 5.32) in detecting the
PIU. Conclusion To some extent, the two methods of PIU detection can be interchangeable for each other. The time consuming
of the maximum and minimum value method is shorter and the process is simpler, but it is greatly influenced by the system noise
in measurement, therefore, the accuracy of the adjustment method is relatively high. In practical operation environment, engineers
should select suitable detection methods according to their needs.
