Abstract:Objective To evaluate the application value of ultrasound-guided percutaneous biopsy in
the diagnosis of peripheral lung lesions. Methods Forty-one patients with peripheral lung lesions
who underwent ultrasound-guided biopsy in our department from September 2009 to January
2014 were enrolled in this study. Having been followed up for at least 6 months, all patients were
clinically diagnosed according to their post-operative pathological diagnosis or follow-up imaging
examination results. The relation between pathological examination and final clinical diagnostic
results were examined. Their complications were observed. Results All tissue samples were
successfully obtained from the forty-one patients, among which 39 were confirmed with definitive
pathological diagnosis. The qualitative diagnostic rate was 95.1% (39/41). The qualitative biopsy
diagnosis coincidence rate was 100% (39/39). Small amount of bleeding was found in only 2
patients. No complication occurred in rest patients after biopsy. Conclusion Ultrasound-guided
percutaneous biopsy of peripheral lung lesions is simple and safe, and can provide reference for
clinical diagnosis and treatment.
