Abstract:Objective To analyze the cytotoxicity of new coated catheters commonly used in the domestic market, and provide
guidance for the selection of clinical catheters. Methods According to the test methods of GB/T 16886.5-2017/ISO10993.5:2009, the
coated catheter extract was cultured in contact with mouse fibroblasts (L929). The cytotoxicity and cell viability were calculated by
MTT cytotoxicity test. Results Different materials and coatings showed different cytotoxicity to L929 cells. Conclusion The coated
catheter of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) substrate has low cytotoxicity and high biocompatibility. Lacquered catheters on latex substrates
have different cytotoxicity results.
