Ultrasound in the Differential Diagnosis of Primary Hepatic
Carcinoma and Metastatic Hepatic Carcinoma

Abstract:Objective To discuss and analyze the value of three-dimensional color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI) and contrast
enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in the differential diagnosis of primary hepatic carcinoma and metastatic hepatic carcinoma. Methods
A total of 80 cases with liver cancer were included in this study from July 2014 to July 2016. All patients received CDFI and CEUS
before operation. The clinical characteristics and clinical compliance rate of the two groups were compared. Results Detection rate
of internal blood flow signals and detection rate of blood flow around the lesion in primary hepatocellular carcinoma group were
superior to those in the metastatic hepatic carcinoma group by CDFI (P<0.05). The blood flow and situation of various indexes in
the process of contrast radiography in primary hepatocellular carcinoma group was obviously different from that in the metastatic
hepatic carcinoma group (P<0.05). The diagnostic results and compliance rate of pathologic examination by CEUS in both primary
hepatocellular carcinoma group and metastatic hepatic carcinoma group was similar than that by CDFI. Conclusion Both CDFI and
CEUS examination are effective in diagnosis of primary liver cancer and metastatic liver cancer.
