Abstract:The paper describes the process of designing the blood-return-control infusion set with floating sluices. The flow field, which is formed during blood-return in a backwards flow breaker, is simulated with the FLUENT software. The result shows that the pressure field is in favor of the movement of the floating body in the backflow preventer. The axial force of fluid can make the floating body move and compact the internal face of the infusion tube. The gravity and buoyancy can be ignored since the density of the floating body is the same with the fluid in the infusion tube. Therefore, the blood backflow can be eliminated by a vein transfusion device with a backwards flow breaker. Moreover, the backwards flow breaker can be used in many projects which are similar to the intravenous transfusion.
