Photogrammetry Technology for Scoliosis Screening Based on Deep Sensing Optics

Abstract:Objective To design and validate the the application value of Kinect V2 camera based on deep sensing optics in the
screening of patients with scoliosis. Methods A rapid screening technique for scoliosis based on deep optical photogrammetry was
designed in the mode of medical and industrial cooperation. Thirty patients with suspected scoliosis who were treated in Wuchang
Hospital Affiliated to Wuhan University of Science and Technology from February to July 2022 were selected as the study subjects.
The “gold standard” of X-ray and photogrammetry examination were completed within 3 d, and the scoliosis angles and diagnostic
conclusions measured by the two methods were collected. Then, the difference of scoliosis angle measured by the two methods and
the consistency of diagnosis conclusion were analyzed, and evaluated the value of photogrammetry based on deep sensing optics for
scoliosis screening. Results There was no significant difference between the angle of scoliosis measured by photogrammetric and X-ray
examination (P>0.05). The diagnostic conclusions obtained by the two methods were consistent with Kappa test (Kappa value=0.769).
Conclusion The photogrammetry technology based on deep sensing optics designed in this paper can accurately screen out patients with
scoliosis, and can provide reference for clinical treatment.
