Abstract:Objective To compare the results of system planar sensitivity tested by manual measurement and equipment-guided
measurement in quantitative single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), to analyze the influence to the results of system
planar sensitivity when the distance between the planar source and the collimator, the diameter of the planar source and the activity
of the planar source fluctuated within a certain range, so as to guide the quality control test of SPECT. Methods The system planar
sensitivity of GE Discovery 670Pro SPECT was tested by manual measurement and equipment-guided measurement under standard
conditions, the distance between the planar source and the collimator, the diameter of the planar source and the activity of the planar
source, the corresponding acquisition time was recorded. Bland Altman was used to analyze the consistency of the two methods. The
differences between the results of system planar sensitivity and acquisition time tested under different conditions and which tested
under standard conditions were analyzed using the single-sample Wilcoxon rank sum test. Results The results of system planar
sensitivity of SPECT tested by manual measurement and equipment-guided measurement were 166.73, 168.50 counts/min/μCi under
standard conditions, the corresponding acquisition time were 9.18, 8.93 min. The results tested by the two methods were in good
consistency, all points were located inside 95% limit of agreement. There was no significant difference among the planar sensitivity
results when the distance between the planar source and the collimator were 5-20 cm and the diameter of the planar source were 3.5-20.0
cm, there was no significant difference between the planar sensitivity results of the two methods and the standard conditions (P>0.05),
and the acquisition time had no significant differences with which tested under standard conditions (P>0.05). When the planar
source activity was different, there was no significant difference between the the planar sensitivity results of the two methods and the
standard conditions (P=0.086, 0.593), but the collection time varied greatly compared with that under standard conditions (P=0.046,
0.039). When the planar source activity was between 18.5-74.0 MBq and the planar source activity ranges from 92.5-222.0 MBq, the
collection duration was less than 10 min, and the collection duration decreased gently. Conclusion The results of system planar
sensitivity tested by manual measurement and equipment-guided measurement in quantitative SPECT are in good consistency, and
the test conditions can fluctuate within a certain range according to relevant requirements.
