The Clinical Application Analysis of Automatic Fecal Analysis System FA280

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the application value of automatic fecal analysis system FA280 in routine fecal examination.
Methods A total of 904 routine fecal specimens detected on FA280 in our laboratory from April 20 to 25, 2020 and the detection
of parasites in 58518 specimens in the following year was analyzed. The consistency of the instrument and manual test results was
analyzed through manual identification and manual review. Results FA280 had a good consistency with artificial identification of
fecal color and traits (Kappa value was 0.72 and 0.75). The detection rate of FA280 on red blood cells, white blood cells, fungi and
fat droplets was higher than that of artificial identification, the coincidence rate was more than 90%, except for fungi, the other three
had high consistency (Kappa values of red blood cells, white blood cells and fat droplets were 0.814, 0.718 and 0.986, respectively).
The coincidence rate of parasite report between FA280 and manual method was only 87.17%, with poor consistency (Kappa value
was 0.112), but the overall detection rate of parasite was 0.463%, which was higher than the manual microscopic detection rate
of 0.311% reported in the literature. When reading the results of occulting blood reagent card, the coincidence rate of FA280 and
manual method was up to 99.78%, showing a good consistency (Kappa value was 0.994). Conclusion The detection results of fecal
specimens by FA280 is mostly consistent with the results of manual method, and the detection efficiency is improved, so that it had
great clinical application value for sample screening.
