Abstract:Objective To avoid the impact of high failure rate of MR examination due to imperfect development and poor tolerance
of newborns (especially preterm infants), to meet the needs of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examination for full-term
and preterm newborns, a MR-compatible incubator was introduced in this paper. Methods The device integrated power supply
module, constant temperature, and humidity control module to provide stable monitoring and convenient movement for newborns.
At the same time, by integrating multi-channel radio frequency coils and optimizing the noise reduction technology and the
scanning algorithm, the device could be used for highly sensitive MRI. Results The results showed that the device can achieve the
constant temperature control function of 25-37℃, and the noise can be reduced to less than 1 dB by optimization in the scanning
process, which ensured the stability of neonatal vital signs and realized fast MR scanning imaging, and the imaging quality was
better than that of standard equipment. Conclusion The incubator compatible with MR equipment designed in this paper provides
a safe and stable environment for newborns during transportation and imaging process, which can improve the efficiency of image
acquisition and quality of MR image.
