Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of application of gem spectrum CT angiography
in diagnosis of pediatric pulmonary venous drainage. Methods The gem spectrum CTA imaging
data of 18 children undergoing treatment of pulmonary venous drainage in the hospital from January
2014 to May 2015 were retrospectively analyzed. Volume rendering (VR), multi-planar reformation
(MPR) and maximum intensity projection (MIP) were adopted to process the images. Then, the CTA
examination results and transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) results were compared so as to discuss
the effectiveness of application of CTA in diagnosis of pediatric pulmonary venous drainage. Results
Among 52 cases anomalous pulmonary venous drainage, there were 40 cases of totally-ectopic drainage
(28 of supracardiac, 12 of cardiac type) and 12 partial anomalous drainage (6 of supracardiac and 6 of
cardiac type). Compared with gems spectrum CT diagnostic accuracy (100%), TTE diagnosis rate (78.8%)
was significantly lower with significant difference (P<0.05). Conclusion Application of gem spectrum
CT angiography showed higher accuracy in diagnosis of pediatric pulmonary venous drainage and less
harm to patients, which was worth to be further promoted in clinical.
