Abstract:As the importance of preventing the spread of pathogens in the air becomes increasingly prominent, and it is crucial to seek
effective air disinfection technology. Upper space ultraviolet irradiation technology, as an efficient, economical and “human-machine
coexistence” air disinfection solution, has long been used to prevent the spread of tuberculosis. With the development of solid-state
ultraviolet light sources, the new upper space ultraviolet irradiation system has made many improvements compared to traditional
systems in terms of light source upgrades, beam shaping, and structural design. The optimization of beam shaping allows ultraviolet
rays to irradiate target areas more accurately, improving the disinfection effect. This paper reviewed the upper space ultraviolet
irradiation system, discussed the technical principles, research and development status, application fields, and forecasted the future
development trends.
