Abstract:Objective To investigate the application value of vehicle mounted CT in low dose chest examination of patients with fever. Methods A total of 80 patients in fever clinics who need to undergo normal chest CT scanning were randomly divided into two groups (40 cases in A group, tube voltage 120 kV, reference tube current 70 mAs| 40 cases in B group, tube voltage 120 kV and reference tube current 125 mAs). The overall image quality score, scanning length, signal noise ratio (SNR) and contrast to noise ratio (CNR) were compared between the two groups. Meanwhile, volume CT dose index (CTDIvol), dose length product (DLP) and effective dose (ED) were compared between the two groups. Two sample mean t-test was used for statistical analysis. Results There was no significant difference between the subjective and objective evaluation of image quality between the two groups (P>0.05). The effective dose of A group was 50% lower than that of B group, and the difference of radiation dose between the two groups was statistically signi?cant (P<0.05). Conclusion Both conventional and low-dose chest CT scanning with vehicle mounted CT can obtain good image quality, and the radiation dose of low-dose chest CT scan is signi?cantly reduced, and the image quality is not affected.
