Abstract:Objective A visual laryngoscope with slow impact force was developed to reduce the stimulation of tracheal intubation.
Methods The buffer material was medical thermoplastic elastomer (TPE-H50G25). The thermoplastic elastomer buffer material
was connected to the front end of the laryngoscope. The buffer material was closely bonded to the laryngoscope by secondary
injection of the grinding tool. The surface hardness of two kinds of visual laryngoscope pieces was measured based on GB/T
531-1999. Results Thermoplastic elastomer can be used as the soft part of the buffer material to connect to the front end of
the laryngoscope. The surface hardness of low impact visual laryngoscope was significantly lower than that of normal visual laryngoscope
(P<0.05). Conclusion The laryngoscope piece with slow impact can reduce the surface pressure and force during intubation and
reduce the stress damage during intubation.
