Abstract:Objective To analyze the irradiance distribution of ultraviolet germicidal lamps in use in each ward of our hospital and
the attenuation changes of ultraviolet germicidal lamps with time. Methods According to the national and industry standards,
and the irradiance of ultraviolet germicidal lamps was determined by ultraviolet irradiance meter. A total of 27 randomly sampled
ultraviolet germicidal lamps were tested in each ward of our hospital, and repeated tests were performed after 3 months. The changes
in radiation intensity of the two tests were recorded and compared. For the newly purchased 4 domestic ultraviolet germicidal lamps,
their irradiance was detected every 48 hours, and the continuous monitoring was conducted for 1000 h to record the change of their
irradiation intensity to time. Results The qualified rates of ultraviolet germicidal lamps in use in our hospital were 62.96% and
37.04%, respectively, at the interval of 3 months. The irradiation intensity of the new ultraviolet germicidal lamps showed a gradual
decline with time. Conclusion Ultraviolet germicidal lamps serve as the physical germicidal means commonly used in medical
institutions, its radiation illuminance must detect regularly, in order to assure the cleanness of corresponding medical area.
