Analysis of Factors and Relevant Solutions in CT & PET-CT Configuration in Guangdong Province

Abstract:Objective To analyze the factors that influence the configuration of CT and PET-CT in Guangdong and propose relevant solutions so as to provide references for the health administration agencies. Methods In addition to the statistic information surveyed by Guangdong Health Inspection & Supervision Agency, the questionnaire was employed to investigate the present configuration of CT & PET-CT in 21 cities in Guangdong. Then, the popularity and GDP (Gross Domestic Product) values in those cities announced by Statistics Bureau of Guangdong Province were taken into account to analyze the correlation between CT & PET-CT configuration and them. Results The Pearson correlation between CT & PET-CT configuration and GDP values of each city, per capita GDP values and population density was 0.931, 0.671, 0.501 and 0.887, 0.630, 0.478 respectively. Conclusion Linear correlation has been shown between CT & PET-CT configuration and GDP values of each city (99%), per capita GDP values (99%), population density (95%). Based on the results, corresponding health administration agencies are recommended to take measures like deployment of general control, preferential policies, reformed assessment indicators and compilation of regional health plans to improve the balance of CT & PET-CT configuration.
