Objective To improve the refined management of medical consumables, explore a management method based on the application of sanitary technology evaluation methods for the rationalization of medical consumables, and provide a theoretical basis for the refined management of medical consumables. Methods The problems in the management and clinical application of medical consumables were introduced, the basic theory of health technology evaluation was introduced, and the practical application of health technology evaluation methods in the clinical use and management of medical consumables was introduced in detail. Added medical consumables access management and clinical use management, carried out a number of studies on medical consumables access, clinical use management and other aspects, and formulated a series of management methods and rules and regulations. Results Evidence-based medical evidence was used to grade the newly added medical consumables. The success rate of the projects with ratings of “sufficient” and “more adequate” was 98.1%. “Inadequate” and “not provided” projects accounted for only successful purchases 1.9% of the project. Due to the rejection of the low-scoring level project, the cumulative cost of diagnosis and treatment can be avoided by RMB 22.951 million, and the cost of a single diagnosis and treatment can be reduced by RMB 114.54. Conclusion The health technology assessment method can reduce the consumption ratio to a certain extent and regulate the access and use management of medical consumables, which deserves further research and promotion.
